Who we are

Sharehouse Pro Pty Ltd (ABN 22 689 570 750) operates Homerun Switch. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the Homerun Switch comparison service. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

When you use Homerun Switch we collect:

• Contact details: your name and email address
• Property information: your street address and postcode
• Energy usage details: estimated usage, number of people in the household, and whether you have life support equipment or a concession card
• Usage data: information about how you use the service (pages visited, device and browser type, referral source, and on-page interactions), collected via cookies, analytics tools and session-replay technology as described under “Cookies and similar technologies” below

We do not collect sensitive information beyond the life support and concession status you voluntarily disclose, which is used solely to generate an accurate comparison for you.

Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

• Generate your energy plan comparison and send results to your email address
• Facilitate a switch to a new plan if you choose to proceed
• Comply with our legal obligations under the National Energy Retail Rules and related regulations
• Improve the Homerun Switch service

Marketing communications: If you tick the optional marketing consent checkbox on the comparison form, we will also use your email address to send you tips and updates from Homerun about saving on household bills and energy. This consent is entirely optional. You can still use Homerun Switch without opting in. You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us at policy@sharehousepro.com.

We will not send you marketing emails if you have not opted in.

Who we share it with

CIMET Sales Pty Ltd: our comparison and switching partner. Your property and usage details are passed to CIMET to generate your comparison. CIMET is bound by its own Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, and by the National Energy Retail Rules.

Energy retailers: if you choose to switch, the retailer you select will receive the personal information required to set up your account and supply agreement.

Service providers: we use third-party providers for hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers only process your data on our behalf and under our instructions.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Storage and security

The personal information you submit through the comparison form is stored on servers located in Australia. Some of the third-party analytics and advertising providers described below may store or process usage data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet our legal obligations, typically no longer than three years from your last interaction with Homerun Switch. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Withdraw your marketing consent and unsubscribe at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact policy@sharehousepro.com

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser storage, pixels and analytics SDKs) on Homerun Switch. Cookies are small files stored on your device; some are set by us (first-party) and some by the third-party providers we use. We group them into the following categories:

• Strictly necessary: needed to run the service securely and cannot be switched off. These include cookies set by our hosting, content-delivery and bot-protection providers, and short-lived session storage that keeps the service working during your visit. They are not used for advertising.
• Analytics: help us understand how the service is used so we can improve it. This includes session-replay technology that records how pages are used; input fields such as your name, email and address are masked and are not captured in these recordings.
• Advertising: tags that let us measure the performance of our marketing. We do not use these tags to build advertising profiles from the sensitive information (life support or concession status) you may disclose.

Some of these providers are based overseas and may process this data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States (see “Storage and security” above). Analytics and advertising data is used in aggregate and is not linked to your name or email address unless you have submitted the comparison form.

Managing your choice: analytics and advertising cookies are off until you turn them on. The comparison service at switch.homerun.app shows a cookie banner on your first visit where you can accept or reject the non-essential categories, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of that service. This page, and the Homerun Switch information page it sits under on homerun.app, set no analytics or advertising cookies at all. Strictly-necessary cookies keep the site working and can’t be switched off.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though some parts of the service may not work as intended if you do.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your personal information in breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at policy@sharehousepro.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available via the link in the footer of this page.
