Most houses run on one person. They hold the lease, the accounts and the spreadsheet, they transfer the rent, and they do the asking when someone's short. They didn't apply for the job.

How does Homerun work?

Do all my housemates need Homerun?
It works from day one for the person who sets it up. It earns its keep when everyone joins, because that’s how everyone sees the same house and nobody has to ask. Joining is a code and about a minute, in the app or over WhatsApp.
Is Homerun free?
Yes. Homerun’s free to sign up, and everything on this page is part of the free app: rent by room, the ledger, the dashboard, chores and reminders, documents and the bond record, and the WhatsApp assistant.
How long does it take to set up?
About two minutes for the person who creates the house, less if they upload the lease and let Homerun read the details. Housemates join in about a minute each.
Does it work if we rent through an agent?
Yes. Most houses do. Homerun releases the rent to the property manager on time with your house reference, and the agent doesn’t need to know you use Homerun.
What happens to our lease and bank details?
They live in the Homerun app behind a verified account, never in the chat. Homerun isn’t a bank. Payments run on Australian payment rails through a licensed payments partner. You can delete your account and its data at any time.
Can the landlord or agent see our house?
No. The dashboard, the ledger and the documents belong to the people who live in the house.
What happens when someone moves out?
Set the date and Homerun shows what they owe and are owed to that day, plus their bond portion, so it’s settled before they go. The new housemate joins with the code and sees the house as it is.
