Common questions
How does a new housemate join?
With the house code. They join in the Homerun app or by texting the code to Homerun on WhatsApp. Either way they see the house as it is: rooms, rent, bills, roster.
How much notice should I give my housemates?
That is between you, your lease and your state's rules, and Homerun does not set it. What Homerun does is make the date a fact the house can see and settle against.
What happens to the bills that have not arrived yet?
Homerun shows the leaver's share of any bill already in the ledger and the bills the house knows are coming. The house agrees the figure before they go rather than texting them in six weeks.
Who finds the replacement housemate?
The house does, the way it always has. Once they are found, they join with the code and take the room, and the house's record is there for them on day one.
Does the leaver get their bond back through Homerun?
No. The bond is held by your state or territory's bond authority. Homerun keeps the record of each person's portion so the handover to the new housemate starts from a number everyone can see.
