Know what you signed and what you put in

Homerun keeps the lease, its key dates and every house document in one place, and records who put what into the bond. When someone moves out, what they signed and what they paid in is already on record, so it's a settlement rather than an argument.

If the bond record is out of date, you're the one exposed

YouDoes anyone have the condition report from move-in?

AlexJordan had it. Jordan moved out in 2024

Bonds get lodged in the names of whoever signed the lease first. Housemates change, the bond does not. Three years on, the lodgement still names two people who left, and the person who moved in last paid a bond portion that appears nowhere.

Then someone moves out, or the whole house does, and the bond has to be rebuilt from memory and old bank transfers. Every house is fine until it isn't.

How the lease and bond record works

  1. Documents

    • Residential tenancy agreementSigned 1 Feb 2026 · 5 names
    • Condition report, move-in1 Feb 2026 · 42 photos
    • Bond lodgement receipt$9,600 · 5 portions recorded

    Upload the lease

Homerun pulls the address, rent, bond and dates out of the PDF and builds the lease summary. Add the condition report and the receipts alongside it.

  2. Lease summary

    • Rent$2,400 a week, 5 rooms
    • Bond lodged$9,600 · 5 portions recorded
    • DocumentsLease, condition report, 3 receipts

    Record each person's bond portion

Who put in what, and when. As housemates change, the record changes with them, so the bond always adds up to the people actually in the house.

  3. The Homerun app home screen: this week’s rent and your share, the electricity, gas and internet bills with your share of each, and the house summary with the lease end date

    Everyone can find it

The lease summary sits on the dashboard. The end date, the rent, the bond and the documents are one tap away for every housemate.

What it keeps

  • The lease and its key dates

Start, end, rent, bond. Read from the lease, checked by you, visible to the house.

  • Each housemate's bond portion

Who paid what into the bond and when. Updated as people move in and out.

  • The condition report

The photos and the report from move-in day, next to the lease, ready for the day you move out.

  • Receipts and house documents

Repairs, the agent's letters, the bond lodgement receipt. In the house, not in one person's inbox.

  • Who is on the tenancy

The names on the lease against the people in the house, so a change is a form to fill rather than a surprise at the end.

  • A record that outlives the tenancy

When you leave, what you signed and what you put in goes with you.

Common questions

What happens to the bond when a housemate moves out?

Their portion is usually paid out by the incoming housemate or the remaining house, and the lodgement is updated with your state or territory's bond authority. The rules and the form belong to that authority. Homerun keeps the record of who put in what, so the settlement starts from a number rather than a memory.

Does Homerun lodge or hold the bond?

No. The bond is lodged with your state or territory's bond authority as it always was. Homerun records each housemate's portion and keeps the receipts.

What does Homerun read from the lease?

The address, the rent, the bond amount, the start and end dates and the names on the lease. It builds the lease summary from them so nobody has to type them in.

Who can see the documents?

Every housemate in the house. Not the agent, not the landlord.

What if the lease has changed hands since it was signed?

Record the people actually in the house and their bond portions. The lease summary shows who is named on the tenancy, so the gap is visible and the change of tenancy paperwork can be done properly with your state authority.

Is it free?

Yes. Documents, the lease summary and the bond record are part of the free app.
